Arie and I attended the 4-day Mid-Ohio Cluster show here in Columbus on November 16, 17, 18, and 19, 2017 and had an amazing show!
Because of Arie's age (and puppy antics that still occur), Arie was entered in the Puppy Dog 6 to 9 month class all four days of the show cluster. We came into the show with 1 point which Arie had earned at the Delaware Ohio Kennel Club show at the end of October. My goal for this show was that he would have a good show experience and that we could hopefully get a good look from the judges.
On Friday, November 17, Judge Mrs. Betty-Anne Stenmark gave Arie his first major win of 4 points when she awarded him Winners Dog.
On Saturday, November 18, Judge Ms. Kathleen J. Ferris gave Arie his second major win of 4 points when she awarded him Winners Dog.
On Sunday, November, 19, Judge Dr. Steve Keating gave Arie his third major win by not only selecting him for Winners Dog, but he awarded him Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed (placing him over 3 dog 'specials'). Because Arie was placed over 3 dogs who were already Champions, that changed the 3 point major win to a 5 point major win!
For an AKC Championship, a dog needs to earn two 'major' wins of 3, 4 or 5 points under two separate judges and a total of 15 points. When Arie left the show site on Sunday afternoon, he had three major wins under his belt and a total of 14 points including the 1 point he received in October. So he only needs one more point to finish his AKC Championship!
Pictures were taken all three days to commemorate Arie's results and they will be posted as soon as I get them from the photographer.
