The day after fireworks displays is typically the largest intake day of lost dogs at local shelters.  While you enjoy the parades and fireworks displays this holiday weekend, the best place for your pets to be is safe at home.

AKC Reunite has published a one page flyer with easy to remember tips for keeping your pets safe over the Independence Day holiday.

My dogs and I participate in agility, earthdog, rally obedience, and conformation events. Additionally, both Reggie and Halo passed the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and Halo has been certified as a therapy dog.  But most of all, my dogs are my housemates, companions, and bed warmers.
