Bee, Arie, and I attended the IABCA show in Wilmington, OH over the weekend of August 26 and 27, 2017. This is an International show, where they hold two shows a day and the format has the judges giving a written critique of each dog which you can discuss with them during breed judging.
Bee received her Honors Champion - Silver title by receiving four V-1 scores (highest given). She was also Best of Breed for Show 1 and received a Terrier Group 3. Additionally, Bee was also Best Bred By Exhibitor (BBE) Adult Terrier for all four shows. Bee and I did nothing in the Best In Show BBE Adult ring for any of the four shows, but she had a wagging tail and showed well and that's all I can ask for.
I had wanted to enter Arie in this show so he could start getting 'ring experience' for when he eventually turns 6 months old and can be entered in the regular classes at AKC shows. He ended up being quite the shining star.
Arie was entered in the Baby Puppy class (3 to 6 months) for all four shows and what IABCA calls an "Express" show. He received five SG-1 scores (highest given) so came home with his "Honors Baby" title.
In addition to his regular breed judging, Arie was Best Terrier Puppy and Best Terrier BBE Puppy so represented the Terrier Puppies in the Best in Show rings for those two classes for each show. Shows 1 and 2 were held on Saturday and Shows 3 and 4 were held on Sunday. Even though he competed against puppies up to 12 months of age, we ended up walking out of the Best In Show rings with 6 rosettes out of 8 times in the ring.
Arie's Results:
Saturday - Show 1: Best in Show BBE Puppy
Saturday - Show 2: Reserve Best In Show BBE Puppy and Reserve Best In Show Puppy
Sunday - Show 3: Reserve Best In Show BBE Puppy and Reserve Best In Show Puppy
Sunday - Show 4: Best in Show Puppy
Photos will be posted once they are received!
