At 13 months of age, Arie is still a young dog ... his body is maturing but he still has a puppy brain seems like. And, even though we have been attending conformation classes since he was around 3 months old, we are still very much working on gaiting around the ring without pulling and freestacking for more than a handful of seconds. Arie does a great job on the table for the judge's exam (thank goodness!) so the floor work continues to be what we need to work on.
At the Bucyrus shows, I thought Arie was finally starting to 'get it' with regard to the gaiting. He went Best of Breed both days and was Best of Breed Owner Handler on Saturday (only day it was offered). On Saturday, Arie ended up with a Group 2 in the Owner Handler Terrier competition and a Group 3 in the regular Terrier Group. On Sunday, Arie received a Group 4 in the regular Terrier Group.
